Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a service that we added in 2017. This technology uses liquid nitrogen, targeted through a small, handheld device. The liquid nitrogen serves to "freeze" the target tissue. This allows us to remove smaller lumps and bumps with little to no anesthesia.

Diagnostic Laboratory Services

We offer a wide variety of lab services. We perform the majority of the services at the clinic, so results are available on the day that they are performed. Some tests must be performed at an outside laboratory. Outside lab results are usually available in 48-72 hours.

Laser Therapy

Our laser therapy unit adds a great, non-invasive therapy to our toolbox. This laser therapy unit uses various wavelengths of light, generally in the "red" spectrum, to deliver energy to the affected tissue. This energy and light serves to stimulate blood flow to the tissue, resulting in better oxygenation of the affected tissue. In addition, it causes increased release of ATP, the energy source used at the cellular level to promote healing. Typically, cold laser therapy requires multiple treatments with results often noticeable after the first treatment.

Ophthalmology

Eye care is another critical component to the care of your pet. Changes to the appearance of the eye can be an indication of several systemic diseases. We are able to perform glaucoma screening using tonometry (eye pressure). We can also evaluate the eye and the surrounding ocular tissue using specialized medical equipment. Several additional tests can be performed to evaluate tear production and the integrity of the cornea (the clear covering of the eye).

Parasite Control

Dogs can acquire parasite infestations, both internally and externally. We utilize the most recent medications, treatments, and preventatives that are available to manage these parasites.

Internal parasites include Heartworms, Hookworms, Roundworms, Whipworms, Tapeworms, and Coccidia. Each parasite may be treated specifically after being diagnosed by one of our veterinarians. 

External parasites include fleas, ticks, ear mites, sarcoptic mange, and demodex mites. These can be prevented and controlled using various products and methods. In addition to concerns about the parasites themselves, several of these parasites are the cause (or carrier) of other diseases, such as Lyme Disease.

Physical Examinations

,Professional physical examinations are the most important aspect of quality pet care. Because animals age faster than their owners, examinations are needed more frequently than once a year. We perform a comprehensive examination on each pet prior to performing any immunizations, procedures, or treatments. Many diseases can be detected prior to the development of damaging clinical signs. Sometimes a small problem is an indication of a larger disorder or disease process. We also offer specialized examinations, such as ocular (eye) examinations, orthopedic (limping dog/ cat) examinations, internal parasite examinations, external parasite exams, neurological exams, and many others.

Puppy Education

Every body loves puppies! We strive to educate pet owners about their newest family members. We cover many topics such as housebreaking, vaccination schedules, dental care, flea and tick control, heartworm prevention, pet proofing of your home, and several ideas to ensure quality care of your pet.

Senior Wellness Program

Once a pet reaches the age of seven (even earlier in some large breed dogs), they are entering their senior years. The health of your pet can change very rapidly during these senior years. Early disease detection is pertinent to quality of life. Frequent testing helps to detect disease as early as possible. Recommended tests include a complete blood count and blood health profile, urinalysis, fecal examinations, EKG, and glaucoma screening. Other tests are recommended depending on the evaluation of your pet.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasound technology can be used for so much more than just the diagnosis of pregnancy. We use ultrasound to highlight the internal structures. We are able to visualize the structure and makeup of the liver, kidney, bladder, and other organs, and can detect some structures that are not visible on radiographs. Ultrasonography also compliments x-rays by allowing us to see the internal makeup of structures rather than simply size and shape. Ultrasound can be used to obtain a guided biopsy of tumors or a urinary sample directly from the bladder.
